India · Land of high passes
Moonlit monasteries, turquoise lakes and the world's highest motorable roads.
Ladakh is a high-altitude desert of lunar landscapes, turquoise lakes, ancient Buddhist monasteries and star-filled skies. Reaching it by air or by the Manali-Leh road is an adventure in itself, and travellers are rewarded with some of the most dramatic scenery in the Himalayas.
Our Ladakh tours are paced for acclimatisation, with two nights in Leh before heading to Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake or Tso Moriri. Experienced local drivers, oxygen backup, comfortable camps and monastery visits ensure a safe and unforgettable expedition, whether you want adventure or a gentle cultural trip.
The best time to visit Ladakh is from June to September, when roads are open and temperatures are mild. July and August are the warmest months and peak for road trips.
May and October are cooler, with fewer visitors and occasional road closures. From November to March the region is deeply cold and mostly closed to tourists, though the winter Chadar trek and snow leopard season attract specialists.
A 134 km long lake that changes from blue to green to grey, with lakeside camps.
Sand dunes, double-humped camels and the road over Khardung La, one of the world's highest motorable passes.
Hilltop gompas with prayer halls, giant Buddha statues and monk-led chanting.
A quiet high-altitude lake with wildlife and nomadic Changpa villages.
A nine-storey royal palace and the lively market below it.
